‘Welcome Robot’ Featured in Stanford Lecture

A friend of mine recently gave a talk on the use of tablets in creative computing at Stanford University, and my ‘iPad-only’ stop-motion animation that I created last January featured in it. Created entirely during my lunch break and on my new (at the time) iPad 2, ‘Welcome Robot‘ was shot in I Can Animate, scored in GarageBand, then put together in iMovie (with some help creating titles in Keynote). To put things in perspective, arguments in the tablet space were still flying around about how the iPad was solely a consumption device, and that little creating was being achieved with it. I created this video as an example of how futile that argument was, and still is.
